DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Hazmat situation on Military Trail in Delray Beach is under control as of 5:45 p.m.
Multiple Delray Beach and Palm Beach County Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the area of 16158 South Military Trail around 5 p.m. for the smell of a very strong odor. The building is listed as the South County Mental Health Center. People inside were evacuated while fire rescue professionals determined the source of the odor.
After an extensive investigation in the building, it was determined that a cleaning supply with an extremely strong smell was wafting through the building. It is being ventilated as of 5:50p.m. There are no reports of injuries.
The scene is starting to clear as many of the dispatched fire rescue units are now being recalled to their base stations.
