It’s Boca Rudeton For Sunday. And Wow, Some Local Drivers Are Intelligence Challenged.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Most drivers in and around Boca Raton and Delray Beach follow rules and laws, or at least make an effort to follow rules and laws. But not two drivers who were nominated this week for a “Boca Rudeton” distinction. Both of these self-loving elitists apparently believe that they can park wherever they want, whenever they want, even when there are signs saying you can’t.
We start with the image above. It’s the white Acura with Florida license plate 77DFQJ. The location: Silician Oven at 21170 St. Andrews Blvd. in Boca Raton. As if the photo needs explanation, there’s a huge sign that says you can’t stop where that vehicle has stopped. Yet that didn’t stop the driver from stopping there, according to our tipster. The claim seems to be supported by the photo that, quite literally, shows the Acura parked next to the sign that says you can’t park there. The apparent idiot — and we do mean apparent idiot — is not only blocking traffic, but would make it challenging for a fire truck or ambulance to have unfettered access to the restaurant. And that’s the entire point of the fire lane.
Our next nomination for a Boca Rudeton award this Sunday is the vehicle outside Joseph’s Italian Market near Atlantic and Lyons in Delray Beach. While parking is often a challenge in this shopping center, it’s not impossible. And certainly doesn’t necessitate illogically and illegally parking an unnecessarily large Land Rover in a place where it’s not supposed to be. If you see this Land Rover with Florida plate IU79GU out and about, perhaps you’ll want to ask the driver what he or she was thinking. Clearly there wasn’t a whole lot of thinking going on, because thinking people realize that parking illegally here creates problems for everyone else. We don’t know if this person was wearing a shirt that says, “I’m Special And Rules Don’t Apply To Me,” but we wouldn’t rule it out.
So who wins our highly coveted Boca Rudeton award for this Sunday? It was a tough one, but we spun our wheel of bad parkers and it landed on the person parking in the blatant no-parking zone at Sicilian Oven in Boca Raton. As our readers know, we don’t give prizes, but if we did: the winner would unquestionably win a pair of BocaNewsNow.com Bi-Focals. Perhaps such a prize would help the driver read a gigantic sign that says “DO NOT PARK HERE.”

My complaint are the people who drive and don’t follow the arrows for up or down lanes. My complaint also revolves around the drivers who do not look behind to see if people are walking behind . As for parking in handicap without a handicap sticker or license plate that is a no no it quite often at the Publixx shopping center.
Let’s face it Sicilian Oven put the sign up to please the Sheriff , but they don’t care they want to sell pizza and the owner if the car 🚘 does not care how many cars have to drive around him he wants his pizza but too lazy to walk and pick it up 👎
