DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Another Kings Point resident traded a unit in the Delray Beach Senior Living community for a cell in the Palm Beach County Jail. James Freebody is the sixth Kings Point arrest since the start of 2024, and the 28th since the start of 2023. Freebody is accused of battering another Kings Point resident over use of a trash dumpster.

Here’s the complete arrest narrative from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office, obtained by BocaNewsNow.com.

“Palm Beach Sheriff’s Office (PBSO) Deputies responded to the parking lot adjacent to (the Monaco Building) located in the Kings Point community in reference to a Battery that had just occurred. While en-route, PBSO Communications advised that the victim stated that a male neighbor who she knows to reside in building L chest bumped into her. The victim stated that the male suspect drove away from the scene after the incident in a gray Toyota Rav 4 bearing a NY tag.

Upon our arrival, contact was made with the victim, later identified as (Alleged Victim). (Alleged Victim) provided a sworn recorded statement of the incident (Not verbatim); (Alleged Victim) stated that while she was turning into the parking lot to her building, she observed a couple dumping trash in one of the bins. She made a comment to them about only residents being able to use the trash bins. (Alleged Victim) stated that the couple followed her and approached her when she parked her vehicle. (Alleged Victim) stated that a female came out of the passenger side of the gray Rav 4 and started yelling at her. (Alleged Victim) then stated that the male neighbor whom she knows to live across from her in building L, exited the driver side of the vehicle and started to get in her face. (Alleged Victim) stated the male neighbor, who she describes as a tall older white male, bald and wearing a dark shirt and tan shorts, began to chest bump her while his hands were behind his back and told her “come on, hit me.” (Alleged Victim) stated at that time she was forced to knee him and fight back to get him off of her. Through investigation, the identity of the male was established as being James Freebody of 549 Monaco L, Deiray Beach FL 33446.

Contact was made with a witness to the incident who was still on scene when Deputies arrived. The witness provided the following sworn recorded statement (Not verbatim): (the witness) stated that he overheard some yelling coming from the parking lot while he was sitting outside his building. The witness stated that he then observed (Alleged Victim) by her vehicle as Freebody approached her and started to bump her with his chest and shoulder.

Freebody returned to his home as Deputies were leaving the area, at which time (Alleged Victim) observed him and called 911 to state that the male who battered her had returned. Deputies returned and made contact with Freebody at his residence. After reading Freebody his Miranda rights he agreed to be questioned regarding the battery. Freebody stated the following recorded statement (Not verbatim): Freebody stated that after being told not to dump the trash in the bins by (Alleged Victim), he drove and stopped his vehicle in the road where (Alleged Victim) parked and that is where he and his wife argued with (Alleged Victim). Freebody stated that he never shoved (Alleged Victim) or hit her with his chest. Freebody stated that he had his hands behind his back the entire time and it was (Alleged Victim) who actually punched him multiple times.

Based on my investigation, probable cause was found to place James Freebody under arrest for Simple Battery, in violation of F. S. S 784.03(1al), as Freebody actually and intentionally stuck Jacobs with his chest, against her will. Freebody was transported to PBC Jail”

Freebody was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released pending a court date.

  1. Thanks for the history.
What do you have against Kings Point?
A community of over 12,000 people with only 23 arrests is nothing.
Why do you treat Kings Point so bad?
I don’t expect an answer since I believe you are cowards and will not answer.

    1. Don, it’s news dude no matter what you seem to think! And calling them cowards because they won’t answer your ridiculous post makes you look pretty pathetic. They are just reporting news of the area they cover, nothing more or nothing less. If you don’t want to read their stuff, scroll over it and go somewhere else like a real adult would!
      Think we’re done here!!!
