Fatal Shooting Arrest Made South Of Boca Raton

A suspect is now in custody for the March murder of a North Broward County man.

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — For the second time in two days, a fatal shooting in North Broward County has led to an arrest. This time, the victim is George Elvecius. The suspect in custody is Terry Flower. The Broward Sheriff’s Office issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com:

Shortly before 9:30 p.m. on March 6, BSO deputies responded to a call of a shooting near 250 N. Powerline Road and possibly another shooting nearby at 164 N. Powerline Road. Deputies located the victim, Elvecius, in front of 164 N. Powerline Road suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Deputies immediately began life-saving measures until Pompano Beach Fire Rescue arrived on scene and transported Elvecius to Broward Health North where he died a short time later. Detectives with BSO’s Crime Scene and Homicide units were notified and responded to the scene to investigate.

The preliminary investigation revealed the shooting began in the parking lot of 250 N. Powerline Road and ended in front of 164 N. Powerline Road. Through their investigation, detectives determined Flowers Jr. was responsible for the homicide and obtained a warrant for his arrest. 

On March 19, V.I.P.E.R. detectives located and arrested Flowers Jr. in Dania Beach. He was booked at BSO’s Main Jail and faces one count of first-degree murder with a firearm and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
