Fatal Crash Near Boynton Beach Boulevard Closed Turnpike For Hours. Man, 22, Killed.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The crash on the Florida Turnpike near Boynton Beach Blvd. early Sunday morning left a Delray Beach man dead and another man injured. While rescue sources initially told BocaNewsNow.com that the victim was a woman, Florida Highway Patrol on Monday confirmed the victim as being a 22-year-old white male from Delray Beach. His identity has not been released.
This is the official narrative from Florida Highway Patrol:
Vehicle 1 (V-1) – 2004 Mercedes-Benz C Class Sedan white. Vehicle 2 (V-2) – 2008 BMW 1 Series Sedan white. Persons involved: Driver of Vehicle 2 (D-2) – 26-year-old black male from West Palm Beach, Florida (Non-Incapacitating Injuries). Pedestrian 01 (P-1) – 22-year-old white male from Delray Beach, Florida (Fatal Injuries; Next of Kin has been notified)
V-1 was stopped facing north upon the center lane of northbound State Road 91 at mile marker 86 with no lights activated. P-1 was originally the driver of V-1. P-1 was standing upon the center lane of northbound State Road 91 to the left of V-1. V-2 was traveling north upon the center lane of northbound State Road 91 approaching the rear of V-1. The front of V-2 then collided with the rear of V-1 and P-1. Post-collision with V-1, V-2 traveled in a northwesterly direction and entered the inside shoulder. V-2 then traveled in a northeasterly direction and entered onto the outside and center lane of northbound State Road 91, where it came to rest facing northeast. Post-collision with V-2, V-1 traveled in a northeasterly direction. V-1 exited the roadway and entered the outside shoulder. The front of V-1 then collided with the guardrail face. V-1 was redirected northwest, where it came to rest facing northeast while occupying the outside and center lane of State Road 91. Post-collision with V-1, P-1 was propelled northeast, where P-1 came to rest upon the outside and center lane of northbound State Road 91.
P-1 was pronounced deceased by Palm Beach County Fire Rescue personnel on scene.
