BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boca Raton woman is charged with battery on a senior citizen after she allegedly got in a physical altercation with a man whose dog she claims urinated on her book. Kyasia Hernandez, 21, is also accused of threatening to kill the dog.

BocaNewsNow.com obtained the arrest report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Here’s what deputies wrote after taking Hernandez into custody.

“On Friday April 26, 2024 at 1000 hours, I responded to (redacted) in reference to a domestic dispute in progress. Upon arrival I met with complainant who stated the following. (The alleged victim) stated Kyasia became angry with him and his dog because Kyasia believes (the alleged victim’s) dog had peed on one of her books. (The alleged victim) stated Kyasia became irate and she began throwing items inside their home, while also chasing his dog.

(The alleged victim) then claimed Kyasia approached him and hit a cup of coffee, which he was holding in his hand, upwards towards his face. (The alleged victim) stated Kyasia made physical contact with his hand and this caused the coffee to spill onto his shirt and face. Kyasia also stated that she was going to kill his dog, once he leaves the residence. (The alleged victim) became concerned for himself and his dogs safety, so (the alleged victim) decided to report the incident. I did observe what appeared to be coffee on (the alleged victim’s) shirt. I then met with Kyasia, who was inside the apartment.

I spoke with Kyasia. After conducting my investigation, l find that there is probable cause to arrest Kyasia for the charge of Battery on a Person over 65 years of age, per F. S. S. 784.08 2C. Kyasia was then handcuffed. The handcuffs were checked for proper tightness, fit, and then double-locked.”

Kyasia Hernandez of the Mansfield section of Century Village in Boca Raton is officially charged with one count of battery on a person 65 years of age or older. She remains held in the Palm Beach County Jail as of 10 a.m. Saturday, April 27, 2024.
