”The victim passed over the weekend,” said police spokesperson Scotty Leamon. “The investigation continues.”

As we first reported on April 20th, a 15-year-old male was stabbed repeatedly in Winston Park in Coconut Creek. Despite a huge dragnet set up by Coconut Creek Police, Coral Springs Police, the Broward Sheriff’s Office, and a BSO chopper, the suspect fled the scene. While no one else is said to be in danger, police are not identifying the suspect at this time.

Detectives are asking anyone with doorbell cam — or similar video — of the scene, of groups of kids in the area, or other suspicious incidents to reach out to Coconut Creek Police. Detectives would like to view the video. Call (954) 973-6700.
