BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you have lots of palm tree fronds, tree branches, and other vegetation that needs to be dealt with before hurricane season, this is the time to do it. If you live in Boynton Beach, that clean up just became easier. The City of Boynton Beach issued this advisory to BocaNewsNow.com:

“As hurricane season approaches, the Boynton Beach Solid Waste Division urges residents to do their part by conducting tree trimming early. The city is offering a hurricane vegetation amnesty week from May 6 -10, during which the city will allow residents unlimited, free vegetation pickup.

Vegetation must be placed at the curb the day before residents regularly scheduled pick-up day. Hurricane season begins June 1, and Public Works officials remind residents that they should not do any major tree trimming or place bulk items at the roadside once a storm has been named.

Outside of vegetation amnesty week, residents may place 3 cubic yards of vegetation weekly the day before their scheduled pick-up. Vegetation must be 4 feet in length, 4 inches in diameter, spaced 3 feet away from any obstruction such as mailboxes, cars or recycling bins.

Vegetation must be separated from bulk trash or any debris. Large tree stumps and trunks larger than 4 feet in diameter require a special pick-up. The same guidelines apply for hurricane vegetation amnesty week.”
