DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If you were stuck on I-95 northbound Saturday night in South Palm Beach County, the image above tells you all you need to know. A crash and car fire all but closed the interstate around 10 p.m.

According to Delray Beach Fire Rescue, the vehicle caught fire after a crash, northbound in the area of Atlantic Avenue. Several good samaritans pulled over and helped the driver out of the vehicle as it became engulfed in flames.

That driver was rushed to Delray Medical Center as a “trauma alert.” The driver’s condition was unclear Sunday morning.

The scene took roughly an hour to clear. Traffic was backed up into Boca Raton. We do not yet have specifics about what led to the crash.
