Same Area Where Teens Dumped Trash Into Water During Boca Bash.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Florida Department of Health has issued a “no swim” order for South Inlet Park and Spanish River Beach Park. This is the same general area where teens were caught dumping trash cans full of beer bottles and other debris into the water. It was not immediately clear if the two are related.
According to a statement issued to BocaNewsNow.com, “a recent sampling showed elevated bacterial levels in the water. For the safety of residents & visitors, swimming is prohibited until further notice; however, the park and beach will remain open.Additional water samples will be taken and it is hoped full use of the beach may resume within the next 24 to 48 hours.”
The teens involved with the trash dumping were identified and apparently dealt with by law enforcement. It remains unclear if charges were filed, but the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said it was a “teaching moment” and the kids involved understood the significance of their actions. As minors, it is unlikely any charges against them would become public. BocaNewsNow.com does not believe arrests were made.

If anyone thinks for a split second that the future behavior of “these teens” has been in any way modified or improved by this “teaching moment”; they’re crazy! The only thing that changes anyone’s behavior is some form of pain! Giving young people what amounts to nothing more than a slap on the wrist will only encourage & promote future bad behavior! How can I predict this with such certainty? Easy; I was a young person once myself.
