Boca Raton Man Allegedly Batters Cops, Then Flees, Now In Jail

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton resident James Paxton remains in the Palm Beach County Jail Sunday afternoon, more than 24 hours after he was taken into custody by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.

While the arrest report continues to be processed, BocaNewsNow.com has learned from the Palm Beach County Jail that Paxton was booked into lockup just after 6 a.m. on Saturday. He is charged with “Battery on specified personnel,” “obstructing justice,” “battery,” and “resisting an officer with violence.” He is additionally charged with “flee/elude police while lights and sirens are active.”

Paxton, 63, is being held on $8,000 bond.

It was not immediately clear where Paxton was arrested or what led police to interact with him. He lists the 19800 block of Milan Terrace in Boca Raton as his home address. That’s in the Brentwood of Boca development.
