BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Popular restaurant Narbona Natural Foods at Boca Center is facing a major lawsuit by the landlord that manages Boca Center Retail Plaza.
SCC Shops at Boca Center is suing Narbona for what it says is back payment of $122,527.75. That’s how much Narbona allegedly owes SCC Shops At Boca Center as of May 6, 2024. This is apparently not a new claim. The management company attempted to collect back-due payment starting in February of 2023. Narbona continued to operate the restaurant, but — according to the suit — didn’t pay to utilize the location.
”(Narbona) defaulted under the Lease by failing and or refusing to pay rent when due. Despite Tenant’s default and receipt of SCC’s demand, (Narbona) has failed and or refused to pay the past due Rent or vacate the property,” wrote attorneys representing Boca Center.
The suit seeks back payment and eviction. It also seeks permission for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office to padlock the doors and take possession of anything inside the restaurant. Narbona had not filed a response to the suit as of 4:45 p.m. Monday, according to the Palm Beach County Clerk of Courts. Narbona is located at 5250 Town Center Circle, Suite 101.
