Boca Raton Stolen Mercedes Leads To Chase, Hit And Runs, Bailout In Broward

A stolen Mercedes from Boca Raton ended up part of a major police operation Tuesday morning.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A wild car theft starting in Boca Raton ended with the arrest of a man in Broward County after multiple crashes, a bailout, a car switch, and a crash into a house. The Broward Sheriff’s Office shared these details with BocaNewsNow.com:

“At approximately 9:19 a.m., Broward County Regional Communications received a BOLO (Be On The Lookout) report of a stolen vehicle out of Boca Raton. Broward Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit and BSO Burglary Apprehension Team (B.A.T) detectives responded to investigate. Through investigative methods the stolen vehicle, a Mercedes, was located heading southbound on Interstate 95. The vehicle exited on Griffin Road and shortly thereafter proceeded back north on Interstate 95. 

Detectives say the driver of the stolen Mercedes abandoned the car near Broward Boulevard and Interstate 95. The subject was picked up by a gray Audi which had three occupants. The Audi continued traveling through central Fort Lauderdale. Shortly thereafter three subjects fled from the Audi as the driver of the stolen Mercedes continued driving the Audi through Fort Lauderdale

According to investigators, the subject caused at least three hit-and-runs that resulted in minor injuries. The Audi crashed into a house located in the 1500 block of Northwest 12 Court in Fort Lauderdale. The male subject bailed out of the car and was quickly taken into custody by Fort Lauderdale Police Department. There were no injuries reported at the house. Florida Highway Patrol, Fort Lauderdale Police Department, Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue assisted in this incident. The investigation continues.”
