BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A community service aide with the Broward Sheriff’s Office, assigned to the portion of Broward just south of Boca Raton, is facing criminal charges — according to detectives. BSO provided this advisory to BocaNewsNow.com:
”According to investigators, employees at a 7-11 store located at 2391 North Dixie Highway in Pompano Beach noticed that an unusual amount of lottery tickets were being sold between late April and late May. Following an internal store audit, it was discovered that 7-11 employee Chantalle Civil printed out $65,000 worth of actual lottery tickets but did not pay for them. Detectives say Civil conducted the transactions as the cash register was assigned to her during work hours, and she also came into the store on her days off to use the lottery terminal to commit the crimes. The investigation is currently active and ongoing.
In addition to working for 7-11, Civil also is employed as a community service aide at BSO. She is currently assigned to BSO’s Oakland Park District.
Following her arrest, Civil was placed on administrative leave without pay. She was hired by BSO in August 2002.”
