There is a heat advisory in effect for part of the region. The entire region from Palm Beach County to Miami-Dade will be impacted. Anyone with medical conditions affected by heat is being encouraged to stay inside. Outdoor workout are not advised.
Forecasters are calling for thunderstorms later Friday and a low Friday night in the low to mid-80s. Showers and thunderstorms are expected to continue off-and-on Saturday and Sunday with a heat index hitting 108. Heat warnings are expected, according to the National Weather Service, over the next several days.

But ocean water temperature are warmer than normal and some experts predict — and fear — that systems will form earlier this year than the norm which is late July or early August. The hurricane season continues through November.
