BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Panda Express location at 970 North Congress Avenue in Boynton Beach was ordered closed by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation after a health inspector found roughly 35 live roaches crawling on the counter.

The restaurant was permitted to reopen on June 26th, one day after it was ordered to shut down. The following is the official inspection report as filed with the state. BocaNewsNow.com, as a matter of policy, does not edit official inspection reports.

High Priority – Roach activity present as evidenced by live roaches found. Approximately 35 live roaches crawling on counter at food service display station. Killed and Removed. Counter sanitized. Five live roaches on wall in dining room at end of food service display station. Killed and removed.

High Priority – Live, small flying insects in kitchen, food preparation area, food storage area and/or bar area. Approximately ten live flies sitting on soda machine boxes in back kitchen.

Basic – Ceiling/ceiling tiles/vents soiled with accumulated food debris, grease, dust, or mold-like substance. Vent cover dusty over soy sauce and pineapple on shelf over one bay sink.

A follow-up inspection on June 26th yielded no violations. Panda Express was permitted to reopen after the second inspection.

  1. Now you can’t tell me that the manager did not know of this issue. Thing is there is no manager or adult at this establishment.

    Why DBPR continues to permit these businesses to operate is troubling.
