Spanish River Park Beach is closed to swimmers until further notice.

UPDATE: Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at 5 p.m. — The beach is open again for swimming, according to the Florida Dept. of Health.

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Spanish River Park Beach in Boca Raton is closed to all swimmers as of 3 p.m. on Tuesday, July 2nd. The closure comes as residents and visitors are — or were — preparing for July 4th on the beach.

The beach was closed by the Florida Department of Health for Palm Beach County which posted a “health advisory.”

“A recent sampling showed elevated bacterial levels in the water,” wrote health officials in an advisory obtained by BocaNewsNow.com. “For the safety of residents & visitors, swimming is prohibited until further notice; however, the park and beach will remain open.“

Officials say that additional water samples will be taken and they are hopeful that full use of the beach may resume within the next 24 to 48 hours. Check BocaNewsNow.com for updates on the beach situation.

  1. It’s only a matter of time before we can’t swim in any of our waters due to pollution. We are slowly killing our planet and ourselves along with it. Our water and food chain are all contaminated. And the FDA is beyond a useless joke of keeping chemicals that are killing us out of our food chain.
