BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The never ending construction on Flavor Pict Road between Lyons Road and U.S. 441 has, incredibly, ended. The Palm Beach County Department of Engineering issuing this statement to BocaNewsNow.com on July 4th:

”We are happy to report that Flavor Pict Road between SR-7 and Lyons Road has been officially opened to traffic today. We are also happy to note that paving is progressing well at the intersection of Atlantic Avenue and Lyons Road. That project is still on track to complete this month. Please have a happy and safe 4th of July.”

The construction on Flavor Pict completed a road that had yet to be completed. Flavor Pict — an east-west road, was never completed between Lyons and U.S. 441. Now it is, giving motorists a new way to avoid Atlantic Avenue and Boynton Beach Blvd.

The construction at Lyons and Atlantic Avenue, running several years behind schedule, is also set to be complete later this month. That intersection — never designed for the mass retail and traffic growth its experienced over the past several years — continues to the be the scene of nearly daily traffic accidents. As we’ve reported, Lyons Road was never built to handle the thousands of motorists now using it due to the mega-communities built by GL Homes, including The Bridges, Seven Bridges, Boca Bridges, and Lotus.
