BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The missing woman we reported on Monday was found dead Tuesday, according to the Broward Sheriff’s Office. Detectives issued this statement to BocaNewsNow.com Tuesday afternoon:
“According to detectives, around 6 p.m. on Monday, July 8, Marie Jean-Marie was found in a lake on the south side of Sample Road in Pompano Beach. She was pronounced deceased on scene. BSO’s Homicide and Crime Scene unit detectives responded to investigate. The cause and manner of death will be determined by the Broward County Medical Examiner’s Office. At this time, no foul play is suspected.
A missing persons alert was issued for Jean-Marie on Monday, July 8, after she last seen around 2:30 a.m. that morning near the 1300 block of Southwest 11th Avenue in Deerfield Beach.”
From our original missing persons report on Monday evening: “According to detectives, Marie Jean-Marie was last seen around 2:30 a.m. on Monday, July 8, near the 1300 block of Southwest 11th Avenue in Deerfield Beach. She is about 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 160 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black and white turtleneck shirt and gray pants. According to her family, Jean-Marie speaks predominantly Creole and has medical conditions requiring medication.”
