DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man stopped for DUI ended up being arrested for multiple, significant drug charges. Michael Hackett of Florida Boulevard in Delray Beach remains locked up Thursday morning.

While the affidavit of probable cause continues to be processed Thursday, BocaNewsNow.com has learned from the Palm Beach County Jail that Hackett was stopped for DUI Wednesday night. Police investigating the DUI apparently determined that there was something else going on. Hackett was ultimately arrested on the following charges:

”DUI, DUI Influence of Alchol or Drugs,” “Drugs — Health or Safety — Possession of Harmful New Legend Drug Without Prescription,” “Drug Equipment Possession and/or Use),” “Cocaine Trafficking — Trafficking In Cocaine 28 Grams to 150 KG,” “Drug Possession With Intent To Sell, Manufacture, Deliver Controlled Substance Schedule One,” “Amphetamine Trafficking — Traffic in Meth/Amphetamine 14 Grams Or More,” and “Drugs Possession — Possesion With Intent To Sell, Manufacture, Deliver Controlled Substance Schedule Four.”

Hackett is being held on more than $11,000 bond. His first appearance is expected Thursday. Delray Beach Police made the arrest. He was booked into jail at 11:02 p.m.
