DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A beloved security guard at American Heritage school in Delray Beach died of a “sudden health event” over the weekend, and now multiple organizations are seeking donations to honor the man and to help his family — including a young son. We are publishing the death notice as provided by the Glick Funeral Home for Roger Paul Hager. The link to help his family follows.

“On July 13, 2024, Roger Paul Hager departed this life with family by his side after a sudden health event, and headed home to be with God at age 62.

After an exciting career in law enforcement that included positions as a police officer, detective, and investigator, Roger’s long-standing commitment to the community led him to share his gifts and talents with the students of American Heritage Schools. The light from Roger’s laughter and joyful spirit was a treasure to family members, friends, co-workers, and students alike.

Roger leaves his devoted wife of 18 years, Geraledine (Gigi) Hager; son, Roger (RJ) Hager, Jr.; brother, Charles Hager, Jr.; sister, Cheryl Hager; nieces, Chantea and Teresa Hager; and a multitude of cousins, extended family and friends to forever cherish his memory.

The family of Roger Paul Hager will welcome friends for a Celebration of Life on July 20, 2024 at Advent Lutheran Church located at 300 Yamato Rd., Boca Raton, FL 33431. Visitation will be held from Noon – 1 PM at the Church. The service will begin at 1:00 PM.
