BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A major crash on I-95 in the area of Hillsboro Blvd. is leading to backups that are now pushing into Boca Raton. It is expected these delays could continue for several hours.
The Florida Department of Transportation reports that the southbound entrance to I-95 at Palmetto Park Road is now closed. Anyone trying to enter the Interstate is being redirected to feeder roads that run parallel to I-95 and run south of Hillsboro Blvd. Expect the detour to take quite a while.

We do not yet have specifics of the crash which involves multiple vehicles. It appears that it began in the express lanes but emergency responders have taken over most of the southbound I-95 lanes, and at least one northbound lane. Traffic does appear to sporadically be permitted to move southbound in one lane, but it is start-and-stop at best.
Check back for updates throughout the morning. But certainly for the rest of the morning rush, stay away from I-95 southbound in Boca Raton.
