BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Chance are you’re going to get a phone call today from someone calling from 561-821-7132 or another number that you don’t know which is identified as “Belle Glade.” As you might expect, it is a sales call. And it appears that it’s a scam.
BocaNewsNow.com received the call early Thursday. The caller, with a strong Indian accent and on a phone line that sounds garbled, claims that he is calling from “Mastery Duct and HVAC Care.” The company, according to the caller, is offering a special duct cleaning and air conditioning cleaning package. The caller has your name and will try to pronounce your city — although seems to fail miserably at even basic English. The caller on our line wanted us to know that the company is based in “DER-LAY Beach and also has offices in “BACA ROOTIN” and “BOONTON BEACH.” We appreciate that most people would hang up at this point, but for those who would not, proceed with caution.
A quick check of the company’s website shows an address in Baltimore, Maryland. When we called the number on the website — 855-452-5577 — it leads back to what sounds like a call center in India.
We remind our readers that area police are constantly warning about scams and unsolicited phone calls. Never engage an out of state company that claims to have a local office but can’t provide the location of that office, the name of the person running that office, or contact information for that local office. And never agree to pay via gift card, bitcoin, or debit card when someone is calling you — unsolicited — on the phone, or sending email. It’s also illegal for a company to cold call, seeking business.
I’m getting at least 3 calls from Belle Glade daily. So tired of blocking!!
