Johnson is accused of causing a crash that left two people dead in the area of Lantana Road and Congress Avenue in Lake Worth on August 7th. As we reported at the time:

“A Boynton Beach man allegedly fled from the scene of a five car crash at Lantana Road and Congress Avenue in Lake Worth. Raekwon Johnson

According to PBSO, Raekwon Johnson of Seacrest Blvd. in Boynton Beach was fleeing southbound on Congress Avenue from a traffic stop conducted by Atlantis Police. There was no pursuit. Sacha Rukin, 69, driving a 2021 Ford Escape, was traveling eastbound on Lantana Road “traversing the intersection at Congress Avenue. Johnson’s Volkswagen Tiguan entered the intersection through a red traffic signal, causing the front of his vehicle to impact the left front door of Rukin’s Escape.” Rukin was killed.

As the Escape was redirected southbound rotating 90 degrees, it impacted a 2011 Infiniti EX35 driven by Edrice Titil of Lugano Circle in Boynton Beach. She sustained serious injuries. Her vehicle was projected backwards causing an impact with a Honda Pilot. That driver sustained no injuries. The Pilot struck a Hyundai Sonata. The Sonata struck a Chevy Avalanche. No one in those vehicles were injured.

Johnson allegedly fled the scene but was later apprehended. He remains in custody, although his booking information was not available as of 7 a.m. Thursday. It was unclear if PBSO or the Atlantis Police Department ultimately made the arrest. It was also unclear why Johnson was initially stopped by the Atlantis Police.” Read our original report, here.

Johnson is now charged with “resisting an officer without violence,” “flee/elude police — aggravated fleeing with serious injury or death,” and “hit and run, fault to stop or remain at crash involving death.” Bond is set at $101,000.
