The image raises the question “why?” Why is a dog in a supermarket? Why is the woman — and Whole Foods — seemingly not following state and federal law which prohibits animals in stores unless they are officially trained service animals? And while we’re at it: why is the woman searching Amazon while sitting in Whole Foods that’s owned by Amazon?

This latest installment of Boca Rudeton is back to dogs in places where they should not be. Federal and state laws prohibit animals in supermarkets. But this woman didn’t seem to think twice about bringing her precious pooch into the store. Maybe it really is a service animal. Maybe the tiny doggy woggie really performs life saving measures. Maybe it really is more than just a pet. That’s the only way it’s legally allowed in a supermarket. Lying about a dog’s training is a crime.

Our next nominee is the man with a dog in Starbucks at Clint Moore and U.S. 441. Again, it’s not legal unless this is an officially trained service animal. Not an “emotional support animal” which is considered to be fake under federal statutes, but a legit trained animal. Starbucks sales continue to dwindle. We have to wonder why. Could it be that Starbucks has become a zoo and no one wants to pay $6 for a cup of coffee while smelling dog?
And Boca Rudeton nominee number three is this woman who felt it necessary to shop with a dog at Boca Raton Town Center Mall. If you ever wonder why merchants and malls are failing, and online retailers are thriving, this is why. No one wants to go shopping with dogs and what dogs leave behind. Do you folks really hate man’s best friends that much and do you have nothing better to do? Really pathetic. Dogs bring so much to our lives and here you all sit disparaging them and engaging with a failure of a ‘reporter’ who can’t find real news to report. When you’re in need of a dog to help you during an emergency, I pray there’s not one around. You’re tragically small minded people.

I hate leaving my dog behind when I’m out all day running errands, but folks rules are rules, they are there for a reason…and those who ignore them should be held responsible, otherwise the freeforall will spread, and soon we will be stepping and slipping on grossness.
Also remember, that children are observing this. How are we supposed to teach them about following rules while others get to pick and choose? Don’t these rules have consequences if not followed? I suggest they do get enforced!
As long as these stores allow these you know what with non-service animals in their stores it will continue. Need to flood the health department with complaints and post these morons on social media.
When the managers lose their jobs because the company has received a fine for non-compliance, the next manager will learn what must be enforced.

Interestingly I have personally gone to the manager of that particular Food Town for that same reason. At the time I felt sympathy for the man behind the desk but it was a better personal choice that personally confronting that “entitled” (B) woman.
The guy had already been informed of the fact that the woman and her dog ,sniffing everything in the Fresh Food Aisle were there and said he could do pretty much nothing about it.
It’s a sad time that people like her can get away with their believe that they and their animals are ABOVE it all.
BTW, our family includes a lovely little “b…h” too. She does not come shopping with us. She stays home!!!!!

This is the reason I’m trying to leave from S FL. FL is not what it used to be, so much have changed!
& I don’t understand why the managers at these stores don’t do anything about these type of behaviors !!!! Some times I think the reason is, because they also have dogs & empathize with these ghetto people, meaning they would do the same thing !
It’s sad to see what’s up happening all around us! I missed the old days !
With all the horrible things happening in the world, why would anyone make a big deal about this? We’re lucky to be able to afford to live in Boca. The reason why people label us as rude is because of this. Check your privilege and think about what your real complaint is. I love seeing dogs anywhere!!!! Rather than people who complain about the stupidest things.
I couldn’t agree with you more! In Europe dogs are allowed everywhere. I’ve never seen any issues with any dogs causing any problems. It’s mostly the people that cause the problems. This is so unimportant and stupid. What a waste of time and what a waste of spreading negativity why doesn’t this guy try to go out and look at all the good things instead of trying to find all the bad things and making problems where they don’t exist! Who cares? I feel happy when I see dogs everywhere.

Everybody knows dogs lick their behinds to clean themselves and they carry 132 diseases that humans can contract, so why would anyone bring them into a supermarket or restaurant. Disgusting! We have enough parasites in our body. Selfish ones!

You folks aren’t really all that entitled but apparently feel the law and rules do not apply to your ilk! Give it a rest as there are mainly health issues guiding these laws. Do you understand that I don’t find your little inbred foo-foo cute or the filth that these mutts carry around on their tongues, faces and anal orifices into my dining establishments, public places and food stores. Their unwanted barking, sniffing my leg and getting under my feet as well as the long leashes to trip over is over the top annoying, unhealthy and did I mention illegal?

The dog in Whole Foods is still under the table and near their owner. Doesn’t look like it’s bothering anyone at all. If none of the staff or people there are worried, why are you?
Starbucks sales aren’t dwindling because than man is there with his dog or because some people take their dogs in for a pup cup. They’re dwindling because they are basic AF and the prices in ratio of the item/s you get is/are outrageous. In addition, you get Looneys loitering in or nearby there all the time now.
The malls aren’t failing because a handful of people (1-3 is the most I’ve ever seen) are there with their pooch. They’re failing because of theft, violent crimes, inflation, and the convenience of shopping online for people who really don’t have the time.
What about write with facts that are based and backed by REAL research, instead of your very apparent hate towards dogs. Extremely petty and mediocre.

The people that live in Boca are different. They do feel and act entitled. I’m glad I don’t live there. I have seen a few people in Pompano with their pooches in stores. I never go in a store anymore because of the Hassles. Store managers have alot on them these days. Disgruntled customers having to scan their groceries, rather than depend on a cashier. The last thing managers wish to do is bark an order at one of them because of a dog. I never carted my dogs around in store. There is a law. Once I had my bird with me at a restaurant. We were spoken to by a manager. We learned not to bring an animal to a restaurant. Dogs are different as they can deposit pee, and feces when they feel the urge. To me, this is where it ends. I love all animals, but they don’t belong in stores.

I am not a dog owner, but I am an animal lover. As long as they are well behaved, what is the problem with a dog inside a store? I find they have much better manners than most children. 😉
