PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Immigrants, specifically Haitian immigrants, are not eating pets in Palm Beach County. That’s the word from a sampling of law enforcement officers speaking with BocaNewsNow.com. Donald Trump, and running mate J.D. Vance, both have made or referenced the internet-driven claims over the past 48 hours — with Donald Trump making the claim during the Tuesday night debate.
”They’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats,” said Trump while answering an immigration-related question during the debate with Vice President Kamala Harris. “They’re eating the pets of the people that live there, and this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame.”
“We’ve never had a report of a Haitian immigrant eating pets in our area,” said one law enforcement source who wished to remain anonymous. “In fact, we’ve never had a report of anyone eating a pet in our area. This isn’t a thing that happens.”
Said another law enforcement source, “It’s a bit strange that a guy who is literally a convicted criminal many times over is claiming that immigrants are eating pets. We know this is not happening. We also know that when convicted criminals speak, we really can’t take what they say with any level of seriousness.”
Trump, and running mate J.D. Vance, both claimed that immigrants were eating pets specifically in Ohio, but suggested that this is a national problem. There is a significant Haitian community in South Florida. There are also no reports of immigrants eating pets at Trump-owned Mar-A-Lago in Palm Beach. Again noting but hear sayl…did they actually see them catching them? This is just blamming. It might be true but not a fact until proven. How would you like someone blamming you of something that they have no actual proof of… If you see them do it call the police.
