BROWARD SCHOOLS TO CLOSE THURSDAY, REVERSING EARLIER DECISION

BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Broward Public Schools will close on Thursday due to Hurricane Helene. The announcement made around 7:30 p.m. came hours after officials in the Broward County School District announced schools would open. Broward now joins Palm Beach County in closing all public schools.

“Following the latest advisory,” wrote school officials, “Broward County Public Schools and District Offices will be closed on Thursday, September 26th. This includes all before and after-care services, after-school activities, field trips, and evening events and classes. The Redefining Our Schools Community Meeting scheduled at Miramar High school will be rescheduled to a later date.”

The School District said it will provide and update for Friday during the day on Friday. Miami-Dade Schools remain open Thursday.
