BROWARD COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Parkland man was killed Friday in a crash just south of Boca Raton. Boris Katz of Parkland, riding a motorcycle, came into contact with a BMW X5 in the area of Loxahatchee Road and Parkside Drive. The Broward Sheriff’s Office released these details to BocaNewsNow.com:
The preliminary investigation revealed that just before 1 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 1, Boris Katz was on a 2015 BMW K1300 motorcycle traveling eastbound on Loxahatchee Road approaching Parkside Drive when Ronald Strobl, who was in a 2023 BMW X5 SUV, entered the path of the motorcycle. According to investigators, Strobl was attempting to head south on Parkside Drive when the collision occurred.
BSO’s deputies and Coral Springs Fire Rescue responded, and paramedics transported Katz to Broward Health North, where he was pronounced deceased. Based on physical evidence at the scene of the crash, detectives say excessive speed is not believed to have contributed to the collision. The investigation continues.
