Expect Major Traffic Issues In Parts Of Palm Beach County On Tuesday.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office says there will be major traffic issues in part of Palm Beach County on Tuesday as the public mourns three deputies killed in the line of duty earlier this month. The following is information provided by PBSO for the funeral service which is set for the iThink Financial Amphitheater at 601 Sansburys Way on the South Florida Fairgrounds.
“With deep sorrow, Sheriff Ric Bradshaw announces the tragic loss of three veteran deputies of the Motor Unit. On November 21, 2024, a devastating accident occurred at 9:15 am. While conducting traffic enforcement Corporal Luis Paez, Deputy Sheriff Ralph “Butch” Waller, and Deputy Sheriff Ignacio “Dan” Diaz, were struck by a vehicle on the roadside. The severity of their injuries were catastrophic and Corporal Paez and Deputy Waller succumbed to their injuries shortly after their arrival at the hospital. Deputy Diaz, fought for his life for four days before passing on November 25, 2024.”

Expect significant delays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Residents please avoid the following areas:
Eastbound Okeechobee Blvd between Crestwood Blvd and State Road 7 (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
State Road 7 between Southern Blvd and Okeechobee Blvd (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Westbound Southern Blvd west of the Florida Turnpike (8:00 AM – 12:00 PM)
Eastbound Southern Blvd, Northlake Blvd, and the State Road 7 Extension may experience significant delays.
Suggested Alternate Routes for Western Communities (Acreage, Loxahatchee, and Royal Palm Beach):
Use Northlake Blvd for eastbound travel out of the Western Communities or State Road 7 Extension to access Okeechobee Blvd. eastbound.
From southbound Royal Palm Beach Blvd, travel west on Okeechobee Blvd, then south on Crestwood Blvd to Southern Blvd eastbound.

The procession will depart Palms West Funeral Home at approximately 9:30 AM. Please arrive and be in place by 9:00 AM to ensure a respectful viewing.
