Holiday Event Brings Smiles To Children, Police Officers…
BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — With thanks to the Boynton Beach Police Department for sharing this great event with us, children who might otherwise go without a gift for the holidays went shopping this week Boynton Beach officers. It’s the Department’s annual “shop with a cop” event and the smiles you see are infectious.
The event took place Tuesday morning at the Walmart at 3200 Old Boynton Road, as well as in Target at 650 North Congress Avenue.
“In partnership with the Boynton Beach Police Athletic League, the Bill Tome Foundation and local elementary schools, the Boynton Beach Police Department came together to support children from our community at Shop with a Cop,” said a spokesperson BBPD. “Over the next several days, more than 90 children will be paired with BBPD officers and professional staff members who will be given a gift card to shop in the store. The event will feature static displays and demonstrations from the SWAT Team, K9 and Motor units.”
“Shop with a Cop is a special program that our officers look forward to every year,” Boynton Beach Police Chief Joe DeGiulio said. “There is no better feeling than helping to make the holiday season extra special for these children.”
Participating children were identified through local elementary schools.
