BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2024 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County court system is in the midst of a major tech problem. That problem is affecting the Clerk of Court’s online system, jury information, certain hearings, and more. Here is the message posted to the Clerk of Court’s website as of 1:45 p.m. Thursday:
“Services and Call Center Unavailable Due to County Network Outage: eCaseview court records search, Official Records search, jury information, marriage license applications and more are unavailable at this time, and our call center is unable to take calls. VAB hearings may be rescheduled. We appreciate your patience as we work to resolve the issue.”
While “official records” are still available online, criminal and civil court records are not. It’s unclear if this is affecting normal activity in the criminal courts division. It was also not immediately clear how civil cases are being affected. Palm Beach County is a leader when it comes to technology in the courtrooms. The downside: when it fails — which is rare — it can create a huge ripple effect.
We’ll update this post as soon as we learn more from the Palm Beach County Clerk of Court’s Office.
