The “Canyon Branch” Will Open Near “The Canyons” Developments. Opening Set For Early January.

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County Library System is set to open its latest branch in early January. Set in West Boynton Beach, the library known as the “Canyon Branch” will serve the rapidly growing section of unincorporated Palm Beach County. Here’s what PBC shared with BocaNewsNow.com:
The Palm Beach County Library System is pleased to announce the grand opening of the Canyon Branch Library. The community is invited to take part in the opening celebration on Saturday, Jan. 11, 2025, at 10 a.m. at 8915 Senator Joe Abruzzo Ave., Boynton Beach, 33472. Festivities will include: speeches and a ribbon cutting; an artist talk with Brad Goldberg, designer of the “Opening Minds” columns that grace the building’s entrance; music and refreshments; live demos of the CreationStation and MakerSpace and a children’s show with performer Suzy Hammer.
This project is many years in the making. The official planning for the new library branch started in 2019. Thanks to the support from the Palm Beach County Board of County Commissioners, Palm Beach County Administration, the Library Advisory Board, the Friends of the Palm Beach County Library System, the outstanding library staff and supporters in the community, the Canyon Branch is complete and ready to serve the county.
This branch serves county residents in the community encompassing the unincorporated area west of Boynton Beach surrounding the Canyon Town Center, which includes the region west of Jog Road, south of Hypoluxo Road, east of State Road 7 and north of Valencia Bay.
The new building is spacious, airy and has flexible spaces that encourage collaboration and inspiration. Two unique features of this branch are the large, dividable meeting room and collaborative space. With this kind of flexibility, the branch can accommodate multiple groups of users both large and small. The Canyon Branch also features a convenient drive-up service window for hold pick-up and a separate item drop for quick returns.
Library Director Douglas Crane stated, “My thanks goes all our library staff, stakeholders and sponsors for their dedication and work complete for the opening of the Canyon Branch. This new location embodies our commitment to providing accessible, innovative and engaging spaces for all. We look forward to welcoming everyone to the Canyon Branch and continuing to connect communities, inspire thought and enrich lives.”
