According To Police Department, Death Is Suspicious But There Is No Threat. Yes, You Read That Correctly.

UPDATES at end of post.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A body found on Federal Highway is being investigated as a “suspicious” death, yet there is no threat to the public. That’s the seemingly contradictory statement issued by the Boca Raton Police Department in a Facebook post made late Monday night. There has been no additional information provided to the public or news media. The City of Boca Raton did not post an advisory on its official website.
Just days after we again reported how the Boca Raton Police Department, under the direction of Chief Michele Miuccio, likes to say nothing about anything that happens in the city, an eagle-eyed source noticed the Boca PD Facebook post. Here’s what the Boca Raton Police Department wrote:
“Today, just before 5:00 p.m., we responded to a report of a deceased male in the bushes at 2901 N Federal Highway. At this time, the death appears suspicious in nature and the investigation is ongoing. There is no threat to the public.”
We note that cities in Florida, and much of the country, tend to not post solely to social media because the municipality doesn’t own that content. Under public records laws in many states, a municipality needs to be able to provide a record of anything a municipal worker posted anywhere. If Facebook were to decide to delete the post, there would be no record. That violates Florida’s public information laws. Boca Raton continuously violates public records laws, and was recently ordered to pay $2M after losing a public records lawsuit.
UPDATE at 12:07 p.m. — Boca PD tells us that it appears this death was likely a suicide. It seems the information from the police about the death being “suspicious” but there being “no threat to the public” was meant to be transmitted by the city’s emergency alert system shortly after the body was found. It seems that the system didn’t transmit as expected so the information appeared to be late and contradictory.
UPDATE 2 p.m. — Boca PD just issued this media advisory. “Last night, around 5:00 p.m., Boca Raton Police responded to a report of a possible deceased male near the parking lot at 2901 N Federal Highway. The report was called in by a hotel employee and when officers arrived, they found a deceased adult male wrapped in a blanket in the bushes with blood visible. With no other information initially available, officers held the scene and Boca Raton Police detectives and the Medical Examiner’s Office responded. Further investigation revealed the male had a gunshot wound to the head, and a firearm was located within the blanket. It was determined the male had been a guest at the hotel but checked out days earlier. Hotel staff had been holding his luggage as a courtesy. Detectives gathered additional information and spoke with family members. Based on the investigation, it appears the male died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.”

The other night there were 3 police cars and a rescue truck in our neighborhood. When we in inquired we were told ‘training exercise’ basically telling us to not ask. The public has a right to know if there’s a danger.
Boca Raton has more crime than they admit, they just do not want their high priced city to live in is just like any other town except the cops are told to hide it all.
