Man Accused Of Torching Woman’s Car In Boynton Beach Community.

DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Delray Beach man is facing a second degree arson charge after State of Florida fire investigators, and investigators with the department of financial services, alleged that he set fire to his ex’s Mercedes while she was out of town. Michael Krempa was arrested on Wednesday following a two-month investigation. The alleged arson took place on November 11th in the Seaborne Cove community of Boynton Beach.
According to a investigative report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, Boynton Beach Fire Rescue was called to the scene of a burning Mercedes in the in the Seaborn Cove community around 5:30 p.m. on November 11th. Fire professionals thought something seemed strange so they called arson investigators to the scene. The investigators agreed and noted this:
“Once I determined the area of origin was the windshield, hood, engine block and front driver’s side tire, I began to examine the burn patterns and damages by layering. I excavated the area in a thorough and careful manner. The lowest area of fire damage was located on top of the front tire. The origin of the fire was discovered to be the entire front driver’s side hood area. All sources of ignition were considered and weighed during this investigative process. The fire patterns are consistent with an accelerant poured on the windshield. The liquid rolled down the windshield and under the hood to the engine block. Some liquid made its way to the front wheel well and dripped down on the front driver’s side tire. The liquid then dripped down the middle of the tire in the direction of the windshield. After ignition from a spark such as a match or lighter, the accelerant ignited melting the windshield which fell inward onto the dashboard. The ignition made it into the engine block and burned the hood liner. The ignition also made it to the front tire where it burned a straight line in the top and down the middle of the tire.”
The owner of the vehicle was out of town when the fire took place. She says she received a text message from her ex that evening that at the time didn’t make sense. At least until a neighbor called her to tell her that her car had been burning. The text: “let me know if you need anything ride-wise.” He also allegedly had sent threatening texts after moving out of the victim’s community weeks earlier.
The victim told investigators that Michael Krempa had previously burned cars so she believed he was the person they should be looking for. Surveillance video in the area, cell phone records, and other investigative tools all led detectives to Krempa, according to the request for an arrest warrant.

Michael Krempa, of South D Street in Delray Beach, was taken into custody by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office mid-afternoon Wednesday. He remains held without bond. The official charge is “Second Degree Arson.” He is set for a first appearance in court on Thursday.
