TELLS COPS HE LIKES “JAPANESE AND GIRLS.” COMES AS DON ESTRIDGE MIDDLE PRINCIPAL ANNOUNCES BOCA RATON TEACHER FIRING.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A longtime substitute teacher in the Palm Beach County School District is facing multiple child pornography charges following his arrest by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Mark Penttila of Evergreen Drive in Lake Worth Beach is being held on $10,000 bond. He told police he likes “Japanese” and “Girls,” and that a victim who appeared to be under age five couldn’t have been unhappy while being victimized because she wasn’t crying. Penttila — whose name is also spelled “Pentilla” and Penttioa” by police in official documents — has spent nearly two decades teaching at area schools.

It is graphic and may be offensive to some readers. It depicts the images allegedly found in Pentilla’s possession which include images of very young girls being abused. Comcast/Xfinity allegedly turned Pentilla in to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. The organization tipped off police. PBSO executed an arrest warrant days ago.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, Pentilla told police that he doesn’t believe child pornography involves anyone over the age of 12. After being told that the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children received two tips about his viewing child pornogrphy, he said he was “curious.” He also said there were no labels on the material apparently suggesting that it was illegal.
Shortly after news of Pentilla’s arrest circulated online, Don Estridge Middle School Principal Joshua Davidow announced that a substitute teacher at the school has been arrested and terminated by the Palm Beach County School District. All the students have heard about this news and read it online. As a mother, I am deeply disturbed by the fact that kids can read all the statements in the police report. I believe this should be removed or the relevant sections should be blacked out. Please practice responsible journalism. Thank you
