BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A 14-year-old girl who either fell or jumped from a balcony in Boca Bridges Friday night has died, according to an email sent Sunday by the principal of Eagles Landing Middle School. We are withholding the name of the child.

Sources familiar with the rescue operation tell BocaNewsNow.com that it happened around 11:30 Friday night on Benedetta Place in Boca Bridges. The community runs between Lyons Road and U.S. 441, north of Clint Moore and South of Linton Blvd. It is believed the girl fell at least 20 feet. The girl was taken to Delray Medical Center where she received extensive treatment for more than a day, but ultimately died from her injuries. The Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the incident. The Palm Beach County School District says that grief counselors will be available to students on Monday. The following is the official email sent to parents of students at Eagles Landing by the Principal:

“Eagles Landing Middle School families, It is with great sadness that I inform you that one of our students has died following an off-campus incident. For confidentiality reasons and out of respect for the privacy of the family, I am not sharing the name of the student at this time. I have been in touch with the family and expressed our sincere condolences on behalf of Eagles Landing Middle School. We will do what we can to provide support on behalf of our school community.

Parents, this may be the first time your child is experiencing the death of someone they know or someone within their community. It can impact each child differently.

I ask us all to be mindful and approach any conversation about this with compassion and somber respect. Grief counseling, including school counselors and school psychologists, will be available on campus on Monday for our students and staff to ensure they have the emotional support they may need to help them somber respect.
