A Palm Beach County man is in jail Tuesday afternoon. Police say he was trafficking pot and his operation may have involved a child.

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — If Alex Herrera of Lantana Road in Lake Worth is your pot dealer, you may need to find a new pot dealer. And we’re not talking about cookware. Herrera is in the Palm Beach County Jail Tuesday afternoon after cops say they found him with more than 25 pounds of marijuana — or more than 300 plants.

The arrest report continues to be processed late Tuesday, but the charges provided by the Palm Beach County Jail tell part of the story. Herrera, 31, was arrested Tuesday morning and booked into jail around noon. Here are the official charges:

Marijuana — Trafficking — Cannabis excess of 25 pounds or 300+ plants. Drugs — possess controlled substance without a prescription. Drugs — prouduce (and/or) possesses a structure or vehicle with known drugs manufactured with a minor present. And drug equipment possession and/or use. Bond is set at $6,000 for two of the charges, but no bond was set for the Marijuana trafficking and “minor present” charges.

It was not immediately clear what led police to Herrera. We note that marijuana remains illegal in Florida, and possessing more than 25 pounds of it is very illegal.
