BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A man identified as a “double amputee” is facing a battery charge after he allegedly attacked a fellow patient in a nursing facility then rolled away in a wheelchair. Boca Raton Police arrested Victor Boyd earlier this week.

According to the arrest report obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, it all started when Boyd, 60, demanded the remote control from a woman in hear early 70s watching TV in the community room. Staff members, according to the report, worked out a deal when the woman could finish watching her show, then would give the remote to Boyd. But after those staff members left, Boyd apparently changed his mind and tried to take the remote. He allegedly physically took it and hurt the woman while doing it, then scratched another patient who tried to separate the Boyd from the woman. That patient rolled Boyd’s wheelchair away — but the altercation apparently continued.

When Boca Raton police arrived on the scene, they asked witnesses to describe Mr. Boyd: “(Witness #1) stated that Boyd is a black male who is a double amputee who was wearing a dark hoodie.” A second witness concurred. “(Witness #2) stated that he is a black male who is a double amputee, he is wearing a gray hoodie.”
