BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — Boca Raton resident Carey Jones has some explaining to do — at least that’s what Delray Beach Police say following her arrest in the city. Jones facing DUI and Marijuana possession charges after she was seen driving ‘oddly’ and with just one headlight — a headlight she apparently knew was out because police in Boca Raton had issued her a warning. Here’s how Delray Beach Police documented their arrest in the official affidavit of probable cause:

>>The following incident occurred in the City of Delray Beach, Palm Beach County, Florida, on the above date and time, I observed a white Jeep fl tag LIDEG with a headlight out at Atlantic Ave and AlA the vehicle then stopped just south of the intersection. As I got behind the vehicle it accelerated rapidly at a high rate of speed from a stop. As I conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle it continued to drive and made a right turn at Casuarina and Ocean Blvd and pulled over off the roadway oddly at an angle. I made contact with the defendant Carey Jones, who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol and was showing signs of impairment.

The defendant had bloodshot glassy red eyes, slurred speech, and a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath. The defendant had an open container of an alcoholic beverage in the center console in plain view and loose marijuana with a glass pipe in a clear plastic sandwich bag in her lap. The vehicle also smelled of marijuana. When I asked the defendant for her documents she rambled on about how she knew about her headlight being out and had alroady received a warning from Boca PD. The defendant said that she was coming from the Ramen Lab where she had only two shots of Saki.

The defendant had the odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage emitting from her breath and marijuana coming from her vehicle. The defendant had a medical marijuana license but did not have the marijuana in its prescribed packaging it was loose in a clear sandwich bag with a glass pipe with residue. The defendant said the open container was from two days ago but later said it was from earlier that day. The defendant was also swaying while standing, had difficulty balancing, and used the vehicle to lean against. I asked her if she would be willing to perform standard field which she agreed to.

(She allegedly had issues successfully completing the exercises).

During an inventory of the vehicle prior to tow an opened 12oz Nutrl Vodka seltzer 4.58 Ale was inside the defendant’s vehicle. Also the small sandwich bag in the defendant’s lap had .78 grams of marijuana and the glass pipe with residue. The defendant was placed under arrest (handcuffed to the rear and double locked) and transported to the Palm Beach County DUI testing facility. After a 20-minute observation period, the defendant willfully submitted to a breath test. The defendant’s breath results were .125 &.121 over the legal limit.

The defendant was then turned over to Palm Beach County Jail. Based on the above facts the defendant was charged with possession of marijuana less than 20 grams and DUI.<<

Carey, 46, of Enfield Street, remains in the Palm Beach County Jail following her late Sunday night arrest. Bond is set at $2,250.
