BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — You’ve been warned. That’s the message from the City of Boynton Beach about the new red light camera at Congress and Miner Road. We told you about the camera several weeks ago and reported that it was in “warning” mode. Starting Thursday, it becomes active. Run it and receive a ticket.

Here’s the official announcement from the City of Boynton Beach:

>>The Boynton Beach Police Department has installed new red light cameras at the intersection of Congress Avenue and Miner Road. The cameras will monitor northbound and southbound traffic. The warning period ends March 12, 2025.

Beginning March 13, 2025, red light violations will result in a fine of $158. If the violation is not paid within 60 days, the violation will be converted into a Uniform Traffic Citation with a fine of $264. Red light camera violations are considered civil violations and will not impact your driving record or add points to your license.

BBPD encourages drivers to drive safely and always stop on red.<<

  1. woolbright road45 mile zone have cars driving at 80 mile oper hour and above. why they are not stopped and given a ticket are the police to busy giving out tickets for a person rolling thru a stop sign. check the amount of accidents on Woolbright and at theSW 22 st crossover. One a week is the average. Police Dept. if you see this we ask you to put police cars in the area and stop this racetrack road from the crazy drivers. Please.

  2. Why is Boynton the only city in FL who hasn’t found red light cameras illegal and removed? Probably because they make way over a million dollars annually off these unethical devices. As if they don’t make enough off all the other taxes. Maybe we should have DOGE look into the city financials to see why these Big Brother Devices are allowed in this fine city and where the money is going… JS
