Boxholders Paid, Where’s The Mail? What Happened To Amazon Returns Left At The Store?
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The UPS Store location at 9858 Clint Moore Road closed Monday without notice. Customers are being met by multiple signs telling them that the store — which has been at that location for at least a decade — is officially closed. The sudden closure leaves what may be several hundred box holders without access to their mail. It also raises questions about Amazon packages dropped at the location for a return over the last several days. UPS Stores are preferred Amazon return sites. But did the packages ever make it out of the facility?
BocaNewsNow.com reached out to UPS Store corporate headquarters in California. We were asked to hold publishing our story until a UPS Store spokesperson had a chance to devise a response. We told the spokesperson that we’re publishing at 5:30 p.m. eastern time. That deadline came and went. No statement was issued.
Signs on the UPS Store indicate that mail is being held at the Boca Raton Central Post Office which seems questionable at best. That post office doesn’t service West Boca Raton. Additionally, people who paid for mailbox services at the UPS Store were told as recently as a few weeks ago that you can’t use the United States Postal Service to forward mail from a private mailbox or “PMB” — the official term for the service provided by the UPS Store. Making matters more complicated, many businesses rely on the UPS Store as an official “registered agent” address for the State of Florida — something perfectly legal. By closing without notice, The UPS Store has now caused serious problems for customers expecting legal documents, checks, business papers, and other items in their “personal mailbox.”
We are also waiting to hear what corporate officials say about refunds for shipping customers whose parcels may be stuck in the facility, and business customers who pay sometimes thousands of dollars a year — in advance — to use the UPS Store as an official address. Check back for updates.
