BOYNTON BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Boynton Beach paralegal on probation for a 2023 DUI arrest is now facing criminal DUI charges following her Monday arrest by the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office. Stephanie Federer of Mark Drive in Boynton remains in the Palm Beach County Jail early Tuesday morning. She is now charged with violating probation, DUI, and driving while her license is suspended.
Here are key sections from the arrest report filed by PBSO:

>>On 03/16/2025 at approximately 2307 hours I was conducting proactive patrol on S Haverhill Rd and Melaleuca Lane in the city of Greenacres, Fl when I spotted a silver Toyota Sequoia bearing the Delaware tag of HP47602 failing to maintain is lane. The Toyota would start in the center of the lane then would drift to the right crossing the solid white line. The Toyota would then go back to the center of its lane then proceed to repeat the pattern. While monitoring these driving patterns, I paced the Toyota doing 60 MPH in a 45 MPH zone in my marked PBSO patrol vehicle, that is certified and calibrated. Due to these patterns and driving over the speed limit, I initiated my emergency blue/red lights to conduct a traffic stop of the Toyota on S Haverhill Rd just north of Lantana Rd.
When I activated my emergency lights, the Toyota activated its breaks suddenly forcing me to break defensively. As the Toyota approached the intersection of Lantana Rd and Haverhill Rd, it got into the right turn lane and went west on Lantana Rd. Once on Lantana Rd, the Toyota changed lanes into the turn lane of the Raceway gas station in the northwest corner of the intersection. The Toyota entered the gas station and drove in between the gas pumps and finally stopped at the entrance/exit area once I told her to stop via the PA. I exited my fully marked PBSO Patrol car and approached the driver side window. I introduced myself to the driver who was a blonde while female, later identified by Florida ID card as Stephanie A Federer. I asked Federer for her drivers license, registration and proof of insurance. While Federer was attempting to retrieve her documents I heard her slur her speech, and fumble looking for her documents. I also observed her having glassy eyes. Moments later a PBSO DUI unit arrived on the scene.
… I immediately observed an obvious odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage coming from the interior of the vehicle and that the drivers eyes were glassy and red bloodshot. The driver also presented as very dazed and disoriented, as well, stating that she was out with friends, refusing to answer questions about alcohol consumption. The driver stated that she did not have a drivers license, but was able to hand me an ID card to identify her as the above. The driver had difficulty telling me where lives while trying to hand me her credit cards. I removed the driver from the vehicle and observed her to be very off balance, even dropping her phone as she exited the vehicle; falling against the door. The driver had much difficulty following most instructions. The driver could not maintain her balance falling over on occasion to where I had to catch her. The driver had difficulty even taking off her high heel shoes. As the driver stood in front me, I observed her sway in a circular motion. As the driver spoke, this obvious odor of alcohol intensified through a slurred speech.<<
Federer, according to the police report, had issues completing field sobriety tests. She allegedly provided breath alcohol samples of .129 and .123. The legal limit is .08. She was described as: “calm, cooperative, rambling, repetitive, talkative.” Bond is set at $6,000.
