Vanessa Reid, 67, Remains In Custody Days After Alleged Incident.
BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A naked 67-year-old Boca Raton woman allegedly threatened a young child and her family with a machete. That woman, Vanessa Reid of Boca Cove Circle, was arrested and remains in the Palm Beach County Jail Thursday morning. The Canadian native is charged with “indecent exposure of a sexual organ” and “aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, without the intent to kill.” Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Deputy M. Russo explains what happened in the official report:
>>Upon arrival, I met with the victims who advised the following: They were walking with their seven-month-old child when they observed a white Nissan Rogue (FL tag PYHN24) driving recklessly through the community. After the same vehicle circled the complex, the vehicle returned, at which point yelled for the driver to slow down. The driver, later identified as Vanessa Reid, then parked, exited the vehicle, and retrieved a machete from the backseat. She then stepped toward the victims one parking space away from her vehicle, waving a machete in a threatening manner while shouting obscenities towards who were approximately six parking spaces of a distance from the female with the machete.
Both stated during their interviews that they were in fear when they saw the female with the machete. After a brief moment, The female (Reid) returned the machete to her vehicle and proceeded to her second-floor apartment (Unit 612). Before entering, she lifted her dress and exposed her genital area in front of them and their child. One of the victims recorded part of the incident, which was later submitted to Evidence.com. Myself and D/S Johnson went to unit 612 to speak with Vanessa where she opened the door yelling obscenities. She then slammed the door shut once she discovered it was deputies at her door and refused to come out and speak with
Additionally the community security officer confirmed that there are cameras of the event. Based on the investigation, probable cause exists to charge Vanessa Reid with the following: Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon (F. S. S. 784.021(1)(a), Indecent Exposure (F. S. S. 800.03) On 3/15/2025, Vanessa Reid was apprehended by the PBSO District 7 Street team units in front of Reid’s residence. Reid admitted to having a machete in her vehicle. When asked about its use, she stated, “I just swing it around.”<<
The alleged incident took place on March 13th. PBSO did not force entry into her apartment, but an undercover street team was in front of her apartment on March 15th when walked towards her car. She was apprehended and taken into custody. Vanessa Reid remains held on $6,000 bond.
