A fire in Woodfield Hunt Club caused significant damage.

UPDATE @ 1:18 p.m. Saturday 3/29/2025: We thank Boca Raton Fire Rescue for providing this complete rundown: “At about 5:30, Boca Raton units were dispatched to a structure fire on Equestrian DR. Units arrived and found heavy smoke and a small kitchen fire. The home owner reported that it was cooking that lead to the fire which started in the kitchen and eventually extended to the attic space. Unfortunately the extension into the attic space caused some structural damage. The origin is determined to be cooking related with a final report coming out soon. About 13 Boca Fire units and 40 firefighters responded in total with no injuries to report. The home owner was able to step outside once the became out of control.”

BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A home valued at roughly $1.2M in the Woodfield Hunt community of Boca Raton sustained significant damage during a house fire Friday evening. The home, at 3095 Equestrian Drive, was occupied at the time of the blaze. There were no reported injuries.

While we are awaiting an official report from Boca Raton Fire Rescue, sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that firefighters were originally sent to the home around 5:45 p.m. for what was believed to be a small stove fire that started with cooking oil. A firefighter first thought that there was no fire — just smoke in the home.

But an investigation several minutes later revealed a real fire burning in the attic. That led to a huge response by the fire department. At one point, 14 fire trucks and related units were sent to the scene. Electricity was cut to the home. Boca Raton Fire Rescue professionals eventually extinguished the flames.

Unlike newer homes in the western part of unincorporated Palm Beach County that built as cement fortresses cloned en masse, many homes in Woodfield Hunt are unique — using significant amounts of wood. That means a house fire can spread quickly and cause significant damage in a very short period of time. The estimated dollar value of Friday night’s fire wasn’t immediately clear. Firefighters remained on the scene for nearly seven hours.
