BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A driver believed to be in his 80s backed-up, then slammed into the front of a Chinese restaurant at 9101 Lakeridge Boulevard in Boca Raton. The man and his female passenger suffered minor injuries according to witnesses. But a teen working in the restaurant was hit by the car.

According to witnesses and sources connected to the rescue operation, an employee in her late teens was near the window when the dark blue Volkswagen Passat slammed into the restaurant. The teen sustained leg injuries but was conscious and alert. The car destroyed the glass wall that holds the doors that customers traditionally use to enter and exit the restaurant.

It’s unclear if charges will be filed against the driver. We don’t know if he suffered some sort of medical issue that led to the crash. He was seen walking near the scene after the incident. His female passenger was also seen walking. Paramedics will confirm they are okay.

We do not know if the man had an order pending at the Chinese restaurant that he was preparing to takeout. This restaurant does not have a drive through option. At least it didn’t before Tuesday afternoon.
