BOCA RATON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A preliminary report on the plane crash that killed three people in Boca Raton earlier this month could be released within the next week. Sources tell BocaNewsNow.com that the National Transportation Safety Board investigation into the crash continues and that an initial report is likely within days. A final report with official findings and recommendations often takes a year.
A Cessna 310R registered as N8930N crashed short of the Boca Raton airport on April 11th. The plane, as visualized through radar data obtained by BocaNewsNow.com from FlightRadar24.com (watch, below), took off around 10 a.m. from the Boca Raton airport, reported a mechanical issue, then circled in a bizarre pattern before crashing on Military Trail near the Glades Road overpass. Two bodies were found on the train tracks. Another nearby. One motorist sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries as he found himself driving through the fiery wreckage and crashed into a tree.
Killed were Robert Stark, 81, of Boca Raton; Stephen Stark, 54, of the Lake Ida area of Delray Beach; and Brooke Stark, 17, of Delray Beach. The three were flying to Tallahassee for a college tour.
The National Transportation Safety Board traditionally releases a list of initial facts within a few weeks of an aviation incident, then follows that report with a final report roughly a year later. The NTSB’s mission is to determine what led to a crash in an effort to prevent similar incidents.
