PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A Wellington woman with a history of interactions with the Palm Beach County court system is facing a DUI charge after she allegedly had trouble staying in one lane on U.S. 441. Lori Byrne Weiser was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail on Wednesday. She was released the same day on $1,000 bond. BocaNewsNow.com obtained the arrest report filed by the Palm Beach County Sheirff’s Office. Here’s the key section:
>> On Tuesday, April 15th, 2025 at approximately 0303 hrs while traveling south-bound on US Hwy 441 just north of Forest Hill Bivd within the incorporated Village of Wellington, Palm Beach County, Florida, 33414 | observed a black Chevy Equinox traveling south bound in the number 2 lane of travel, having difficulties maintaining a single lane. I observed the vehicle swerving from right to left in and out of lane number 2 traveling at a high rate of speed. I observed the vehicle rapidly approaching another vehicle from the rear. I observed the other vehicle abruptly move out of the Equinox’s way.
I then observed the Equinox slow down to approximately 40 mph as it continued south bound on US HWY 441. I activated my in-car video system to record the Equinox’s driving pattern. I observed the vehicle continue to weave within its lane moving from right to left and back hugging the broken white lines between lanes one and two and lanes two and three. I continued to monitor the vehicle until it reached the intersection of US HWY 441 and Lantana Road where I initiated a traffic stop on the Equinox which continued south through the intersection before pulling into the left turn lane just south of the intersection and coming to a complete stop.
Upon exiting my marked patrol vehicle and approaching the driver’s side door and window, I immediately observed a strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage emanating from within the Equinox. I made contact with the driver/sole occupant of the Equinox at the driver’s side window where I requested her drivers license, registration, and proof of insurance. The driver provided her license from her purse I observed her photograph affixed to her drivers license which identified her as Lori Bryne Weiser (Date of birth November xx 1970), she then searched for and provided her motor vehicle insurance, and after a few minutes she located her registration which she bypassed several times before finding and handing it to me. I informed the driver that the reason she had been stopped was for failure to maintain a single lane. I inquired with Weiser as to if she had consumed any alcohol tonight at which time she stated “no”.
I explained to Weiser that I observed the odor of alcohol emanating from her person to which she maintained that she had not consumed any alcohol. I noted that Weiser’s eyes were glassy and her skin was flushed red. Based on my observations I believed Weiser was operating her motor vehicle under the influence of an alcoholic beverage. <<
The deputy then called for a DUI investigator who conducted a series of field sobriety exercises which she allegedly had issues completing. Weiser then, according to police, refused to submit to a breath alcohol test. Under Florida law, that results in an automatic license suspension. Byrne was booked into the Palm Beach County Jail and later released on bond. A court date is pending.
