WELLINGTON, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — The Palm Beach County School District is facing a major lawsuit filed by the family of a young girl who was allegedly seduced by a math teacher at Wellington High School. The teacher, Charles Maglio, shot and killed himself after he was criminally charged. His body was found near his Coral Springs home in October of 2023.

A complaint, just filed with the Palm Beach County Clerk of Court, demands in excess of $100,000 for the alleged victim of Maglio. Through documents obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, attorneys for the alleged victim demand that the Palm Beach County School District provide answers to questions about Maglio, his employment, and potential inappropriate interaction with other students.

“Produce any and all documentation for the three years proceeding this incident and one year subsequent to this incident evidencing the following: incidents and compilations about or involving Charles Maglio; incidents involving any allegations of sexual abuse, sexual misconduct and improper teacher-student relations by any teachers or employees at Wellington High School; Complaints of sexual abuse, sexual misconduct, and improper teacher student relations at Wellington High School.

The suit is filed by the Fort Lauderdale law firm of Bernheim Kelley Batista LLC. The questions being asked by the law firm are similar to questions posed days ago by BocaNewsNow.com about the molestation allegations against teacher Norman Riemer, and what his wife — Boca Raton Whispering Pines Elementary School Principal Barbara Riemer — knew as the investigation was launched. We expect to have significant reporting on the Riemer case later this week.
