DELRAY BEACH, FL (BocaNewsNow.com) (Copyright © 2025 MetroDesk Media, LLC) — A court filing obtained by BocaNewsNow.com regarding a now closed employment discrimination lawsuit against Delray Hyundai and Delray Genesis accused the car dealership of forging a customer’s signature on a tax form. That employee says he was fired after speaking out about the forgery. In a response obtained by BocaNewsNow.com, an attorney for the car dealership simultaneously wrote that the dealership didn’t engage in illegal conduct, AND took “corrective actions” regarding the activity it denied.

BocaNewsNow.com reported last week on serious customer service issues at Delray Hyundai and Delray Genesis. Our reporting led to scores of readers sharing their experiences with BocaNewsNow.com — many of which are published here. We’ve learned that Genesis corporate is aware of the developing situation. But what we didn’t know at the time is that the dealership was accused of forging a customer’s signature — and that an attorney for the dealership wrote a notable response to that claim.

Here’s the original allegation filed in the now-closed lawsuit between Thomas Boothe and “ABC JS Auto Imports” which does business as Delray Hyundai/Delray Genesis at 655 NE 6th Avenue in Delray Beach:

“Plaintiff was the Employer’s employee working as a Biller from 5/28/24 through 9/18/24 when he was fired by Manny Vallejo, General Manager, & Katie Parker, Controller, based on his 8/15/24 written and verbal complaint to Alina Parilla, Office Manager, and follow-up complaints to the Employer’s upper management. Prior to Plaintiff’s 8/15/24 complaint, he had received no discipline or reprimands from the Employer.

In Plaintiff’s 8/15/24 complaint, he complained and/or protested to the Employer that, among other operational issues, he observed the Employer’s Title Clerk forge a customer’s signature on a tax form who then had the Inventory Clerk to illegally notarize the forged customer signature for submittal to the State of Florida in order to complete a sale so the Employer could book the auto sale. When Plaintiff complained to the Employer’s Office Manager about what he saw, he was told to “keep quiet” since that was how the Employer operated efficiently.”

Here’s the response provided in an interrogatory filed by an attorney for the car dealership and its parent company.

To the extent that Plaintiff actually identified illegal conduct, which Delray Hyundai expressly denies, Delray Hyundai took corrective actions regarding the same within a reasonable time of being notified.

In layman’s terms, the dealership denies illegal activity, yet simultaneously corrected the activity which it denies. There is no indication that the delaership was ever criminally investigated or charged in the matter. The employment lawsuit was confidentially settled. The attorney who wrote the response on behalf of Delray Hyundai and Delray Genesis now works as an attorney for the State of Florida. 1. I bargained on a preowned Audi convertible, A5, 2019, low mileage, pretty sweet ride. I bargained hard for three weeks all the while telling them that in the end I would take it to my mechanic and we’d have a deal if it checked out. We got all the way to the end, had an appointment for the salesman to meet me with the car at my mechanic 2 miles away for a 30 minute inspection, then suddenly ”No, you can’t take it to your mechanic, insurance regulations, he has to come here.” Needless to say, my mechanic and my intuition said not to buy the car.
There had to have been something wrong with it, I was in love with the car and wanted it. But they would not yield or even offer a three day return like the one I ended up buying.
If you bought that car, please contact Boca news now lol.
They were also required by Code Enforcement to sod the right away around their business five-ish years ago, a full city block. 2 to 3 years later it’s dirt and used for employee parking. Bad Management yes. Bad Code Enforcement yes

  2. I started using Delray Hyundai Genesis in 2014 with my first lease. I’ve had three leases after that and bought my car out since the original owner sold this investment corporation took over and the service absolutely is horrendous. You can’t wait for your car they give you a lift home and a lift back. I mean they do do the work they say but the service still is terrible. Just a shame the owner sold.
