Liqud Oxygen Allegedly Defaults on $150,000+ Of Cheap Radio, Streaming Ads. West Palm Station Charging Just $10!

Ads could cost hundreds of dollars for just seconds — money often considered well spent by companies that saw profits grow. In a suit just filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court, iHeart Media (NASDAQ: IHRT) reveals that those days are seemingly long gone. With social media and hyper-local websites like BocaNewsNow.com truly connecting with targeted audiences, iHeart is selling ads for as little as ten dollars on one of its West Palm Beach stations. And even at $10, an advertiser is apparently refusing to pay.
At issue: Liquid Oxygen, a Palm Beach County company that provides a “three step Acne system” for just $65. The company, after having its credit approved by iHeart, ordered more than $150,000 worth of ads on stations in West Palm Beach, Miami, Austin, and other locations. The ads included radio, streaming, podcasts, and the iHeart templated websites. It appears the ads did not lead to huge riches for the company. iHeart is now suing Liquid Oxygen to pay for the ads.
The suit, which includes stunning details of iHeart’s charges and billing practices, reveals that ads on what is considered a major radio station — KHFI in Austin, Texas — are selling for just $40. Here at home, WLDI-FM — “WILD 95.5” — is filling ads at just $35. Want a DJ on “WILD” to say something nice about your company? That will run you $10.
Pure Oxygen, which lists an address on Heritage Drive in Jupiter, has not responded to the suit. We note this is the second lawsuit in just weeks that iHeart has filed in Palm Beach County Circuit Court. Another suit accuses a financial services company of not paying for its ads.
